How This Tiny Tank Could Help Keep Construction on Track
Doxel uses next-gen imaging technology and artificial intelligence to make sure large construction projects are error-free.
The larger the construction project, the more ways there are for it to go wrong. To make matters worse, even a small mistake can lead to serious delays and other problems down the line, which is why it’s super important to be able to identify those mistakes early.
A new startup called Doxel hopes to solve this problem, by combining artificial intelligence with robots and LIDAR to scan construction sites and identify problems. Doxel uses a combination of aerial drones and ground robots, equipped with HD cameras and LIDAR that can see through walls, to comb over every inch of a construction site every day.
Then, that data is analyzed by an AI and compared to plans, blueprints, and schedules to see whether everything is going smoothly. If something is built or installed wrong, or if the workers are behind schedule, the AI can detect and highlight it.
The CEO of Doxel, Saurabh Ladha, hopes that this technology can be used to save time and money during large construction projects, which are often subject to overruns. With Doxel’s tech, however, even the biggest projects should be able to stay on track.
